Youth Program

Practice

Practice begins Sunday, 1/13/08, 4:30-6:00pm at Jenks East Elementary School (JEES) on the corner of 91st and Harvard.

• Please bring this completed medical release form to your first practice. Medical Release Form
• Wear comfortable gym clothes and gym shoes (sneakers) to practice.  Knee pads are optional but usually a good idea.

Registration

Registration is still open. To register, mail the completed Team Tulsa Volleyball registration form, the signed the Team Tulsa Volleyball youth contract, and check for the season fee of $125 made out to Team Tulsa Volleyball.

Introduction

2008 will be our third year to run a local youth program for 10 and under girls. This program is for girls who are typically 2nd, 3rd, and 4th graders. Our goal is to introduce the girls to volleyball in a fun, positive, and active atmosphere. We will promote learning through insuring the girls have many contacts with the ball during practices while providing expert instruction for strong fundamental skill development.

Practices

Practices will be one day each week. Practices will most like be Sundays, 4:30-6:00pm and sometimes earlier if possible depending on facility availability. Practice format will be skill development along with game play. Practices will be conducted by our Team Tulsa volleyball coaches.

Schedule

The season will begin in early January and conclude mid-March. We will conduct two interclub festivals during the season. Festivals are tournaments with a non-competitive format. For example, scores will be kept but not recorded. We anticipate that each of these festivals will be held on a Saturday or Sunday, date(s) to be determined. We use revised rules, based on USAV youth guidelines, to increase simplicity of game formats and maximize learning opportunities.

Cost

The season cost fee of $125 will cover a numbered t-shirt, the player’s USAV/OKRVA registration, facilities, equipment, and coaching.
